The Thai ‘Wolves of Wall Street’ : In Conversation with ASEAN Delegates

Written by Vicent Llorca Mascarell, Journalist, LIMUN 2026

Today I met with two incredible, inspiring delegates. Their energy, bold assertions, theatrical and rhetorical skills as well as charming aura makes them a duo to look out for. Whenever they take the floor, they break it. They may not sell stocks, but they sell ideas. Let me introduce you to the Thai Wolves of Wall Street, the representatives of Thailand in the ASEAN committee.

Question: What is the recipe for your success as a duo?

Delegate A: I believe that the recipe for our success as a duo is first of all the creativity between us and also establishing strategies for the committee. Being connected with each other, writing notes…

Delegate B: We practiced as well, we really put in the work. More importantly, we are just great friends. It is because we are great friends that we are able to connect well. I know a lot about this guy.

Q: So you knew each other before coming to the MUN?

A: Yes, we’ve known each other for six months. We’re in the same uni, so we’ve just been doing MUN together a lot, we got to know each other very well.

B: As friends, nothing else.

Q: How do you come up with the ideas for your speeches?

B: To be honest, it is mainly just sitting down.

A: We first think about what point we want to bring across. And then, splitting up the speeches is really interesting because it grabs attention from everyone. So we sit down and argue how can we grab attention and how do we bring a point across the best. So, we also use props and everything to just grab attention and also clarify a point.

Q: Could you briefly state Thailand’s position on the topic (Addressing gaps in sustainability, enforcement, and marine governance for economic growth)?

B: Thailand right now really wants to focus on securing stability in the South China sea. That includes preventing escalation, to promote the sustainability of our environment, to ensure our fisheries do not decline. So we promote the fisheries and the local fishers even if they might seem small, they are still valued in our heart.

A: Being connected within ASEAN and also sovereignty is really important for us so we really stand for sovereignty. We do not want conflict in the solutions we are trying to build, so just also regional connectivity and working together.

Q: What do you think about the film "The Wolf of Wall Street”?

A: It’s one of my favourite movies.

B: I second that. I loved the film.

A: Loved the film, loved the actors…

B: You can really see the passion. You can also see the value of working hard. But maybe some things are unethical.

Q: I think you won’t have trouble with this one. So… sell me this pen.

A: I give you 10 million dollars, you just have to sign this contract.

Q: Alright.

A: Okay, sign it.

Q: I don’t have a pen.

A: I do. Two dollars.

That is it for the moment. We will keep seeing these phenomenal delegates on the floor.
